About my family:
I have been married for almost 5 years to my wonderful husband, Maurice. He has been a police officer for several years. We have two sons, Maurice Jr. (Moe) and Malachi. Moe is 4 and Malachi is 1 1/2. We also have two dogs, Kobe (boxer) and Jessie (German Shepherd). Both dogs are very protective of the boys!
About my business:
I started Custom Quilt Kits a few years ago out of frustration. I could never find a kit exactly like I wanted it. Either the kit was for a quilt smaller than I wanted, the colors weren't quite what I wanted, or the fabric wasn't quite what I wanted. I like to make items out of all sorts of fabric, not just cotton. I really like fleece for applique! It doesn't fray like cotton! I also like to make bedsize quilts and I could only find kits in lap size or smaller! I'm also not a big fan of today's colors--lime green and hot pink, etc. The kits today seem to be in the latest colors, making it difficult for me to find something I liked! I realized that I was not the only one in this situation. I decided that a business custom cutting kits for people was the way to go. Now there is an option for people who want a kit just for them! A customer sends me their fabric and I cut it using my die cut machine and send it back to them ready to sew!
